Generate Emotional Resilience Through Yoga
What
I love about working with people individually is that I get to listen
intently to you, customize our time together, offer a deeper
experience, and create the best conditions for true transformation.
Whether
I am working with someone who is experiencing an unrelenting sense of
overwhelm, frazzle or stress, if you are not sleeping well or are
too exhausted to truly relax, if you feel like you have just lost
the spark of joy that used to exist in our life, or if you are
working with more persistent issues of irritability, anxiety or
depression, the results are the same:
Through the power of specific yogic practices, people are reconnecting with their wellspring of calm, balanced and uplifted
energy, cultivating inner environmental sustainability, that allows them to live lives they love.
Yoga For Emotional Wellbeing
a six week series
Struggling with stress? Depression and/or anxiety? Posture based Yoga, health promoting physically, mentally and spiritually, can be hugely effective for emotional wellbeing. Through specific practices, including asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques), the nervous system--key to a sense of well-being--comes into a sweet balance. Practiced regularly this can lead to permanent positive change, reducing stress, anxiety, depression and other mood challenges.
In this series you will learn:
--keys to using physical techniques to balance the nervous system and stimulate the feel-good hormones, bathing the brain and body in a sense of tranquility and contentment
--sequences to integrate the right and left hemispheres of the brain and add equilibrium to your mood
--very specific breathing techniques (pranayama) that calm and sooth anxiety, or energize and stimulate a depressed mind, balancing body and mind.
--yogic principles, practices, and philosophy that you can apply and practice to establish mental and emotional wellbeing
--exciting developments in neuroscience, and what they might mean for your emotional life
--how the way we move our bodies affects our mood (movement/ mood connection)and what you can do about it
--clarity about how change really happens, and how to make positive changes permanent.
Each class is a mix of movement and stillness, learning information and technique to integrate into a living breathing practice of yoga to uplift your spirit. No yoga experience necessary.
